2014

Opening of the txotx

Imanol Agirretxe, local footballer playing for Real Sociedad, was in charge of the opening of the first Txotx season 2014. A sportsman with a close link to usurbil and the culture of cider.

2015

Opening of the txotx

Real Sociedad footballers, Markel Bergara and Gerónimo Rulli, were responsible for opening the second season of the Txotx at SAIZAR in Usurbil.

2016

Opening of the txotx

Real Sociedad players, Diego Reyes and Joseba Zaldua, were the first to try the cider in 2016.

2017

Opening of the txotx

Julen Lopetegui, ex-footballer and football coach, was the guest of honour of the txotx season in 2017.

2018

Opening of the txotx

Vicente del Bosque, Spain’s ex-coach, opened the txotx season in 2018.

2019

Opening of the txotx

Members of the music group, Ketama, fired the starting gun for the txotx opening in 2019.

2020

Opening of the txotx

Miguel Indurain, former cyclist was in charge of trying the first cider of 2020.

2021

Opening of the txotx

In the middle of the pandemic, a special programme was recorded for EITB, ‘Izan bagara, Txotx’. With the presenter, Julian Iantzi as conductor, a spectacular fusion of music, dance, sport and cider was organised. In charge of officially opening the 2021 cider season was Mikel Ubarrechena, president of the Gipuzkoa Hospitality Association and vice-president of the Hospitality Association of Spain, to show support for the hard times the profession is going through.
